Lucknow is all set to be painted purple as the Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav inaugurated Sahara's first massive mall in the city, Sahara Gunj. Sahara India Pariwar's Guardian, Managing Worker and Chairman Subrata Roy Sahara was present on the occasion. The launch function was attended by a galaxy of luminaries from the sports, modelling and film fraternity.

UP Development Council Chairman, Amar Singh, and a host of glitterati including tennis icon Sania Mirza, cine stars Anil Kapoor, Manisha Koirala and Gul Panag graced the occasion. The function was compered by Lucknow's own lad and impresario, Roshan Abbas. Big Bazaar will open a new world of shopping and entertainment to Lucknowites.

A number of big brands like Marks n Spencers, Reebok, Rado, Next, Guess, Pepe and Levis are expected to enter the city with the opening of the mall. Entertainment biggie PVR will open a four-screen multiplex. But the 'big mall' is not just about shopping alone. Several eateries like Subway, Nirula's, Mark Pi and city's own Shanghai Surprise will add mouth watering dishes to the shoppers. Apart from this, the mall is also expected to boast of a complete food court not unlike its counterparts in metros like Delhi and Mumbai, giving city shoppers a taste of metro culture.
